Criticism
Some people believed that x couldn't equal 3x + 1 because it was an invalid equation. They were proven wrong.
Proof that x = 3x + 1
x = 3x + 1 -3x -3x
-2x = 1 x = -0.5
-0.5 = 3(-0.5) + 1 -0.5 = -1.5 + 1 -0.5 = -0.5
