The article Promotion policy is not considered part of Gammasphere canon.

On Gammapedia, curators have the ability to promote other users to curator status.

Use sparingly

There are no hard and fast rules for promotion, leaving it entirely at the discretion of the curator. However, on Gammapedia curatorship is considered "a big deal". Only promote users who work to improve Gammapedia, and try not to promote more than we need.

Status of curators

Along with having a few extra tools, curators are considered the management of Gammapedia. No curator (save for Abwayax) is above the other curators. Appointing a new curator instantly makes him or her your equal, and they have as much "status" in Gammapedia as you do; there are no "junior" or "senior" curators.

Avoid wheel wars

Curators may also demote users. If a curator demotes a user, do not promote them again. Discuss the reason for the demotion with that curator and reach a conclusion. If you and the other curator cannot work it out, use dispute resolution.

Election of curators

In the future, curators may be elected by other users. However, the userbase is not large enough to hold elections.
