On Gammapedia, the power to "block" users is vested in curators. A "block" is a technical restriction imposed on an account that prevents it from editing pages.
Reasons for a block
Blocks are levied against users, at the discretion of a curator, for the following reasons:
- harassment
- vandalism
- copyright infringement (using text that is owned by someone else)
- inability to interact with other users in a constructive manner
Not reasons for a block
Blocks should not be placed on users for the following reasons:
- Disagreement with another user or curator without destructive behavior
- Insertion of material that is not harassment, vandalism, or copyright infringement that is later deemed non-canon by a curator
Scope of a block
When a block is placed against a user, it is intended to restrict the user, not just the user's account. Thus, the user is not allowed to edit anonymously or with another account during the duration of the block. Block dodging may lead to further penalties.
Appealing a block
Blocks may be appealed at the Gammapedia board on the abwayax.com forums.
