Animorphs

Animorphs is a book series about a bunch of people who turn into animals.

Plot

Well, these slug-like aliens called Yeerks come in and take over the minds of humans, making them smarter at the expense of their free will. This other guy, who is an Andalite (pronounced and-a-light, presumably), comes and gives a bunch of kids the power to turn into animals.

Characters

Good guys

• Jake is the leader of the Animorphs. His special power is turning into a tiger, usually after eating his Frosted Flakes. He also once turned into a lizard to promote the Mozilla Foundation.
• Rachel is Jake's cousin. She can turn into a bear, which might sound a bit stupid until she rips your heart out with her bear claws. Is rumored to be having a relationship with Yogi. She dies off at the end... lucky for her because she never learned Yogi was having an affair with a Care Bear.
• Marco is Jake's buddy. His special power is to morph into a gorilla. He doesn't really look any different in this stage.
• Cassie can turn into a wolf, sort of like The Lone Wolf, only not as humanoid. She likes animals and animal shit. Which is probably the reason why her morphing sequence is only ⁹⁹/₁₀₀ times as gross as everyone else's.
• Tobias has the strange power to turn into a human (or a Hork-Bajir, if he figures out how to pronounce it). You see, unlike everyone else he's a hawk. Why the hell would someone want to live out their life as a freakin HAWK?
• Aximili Esgarrouth Isthill is an Andalite (and-a-light) who crash landed on Earth during a fight with those Yeerk dudes. He mostly just sits around (in human morph, because Andalites can't sit) and goes "WTF".

Bad guys

• Tom is a Controller, which is someone controlled by the Yeerks (He is the one being controlled, and yet he is a "Controller"? WTF). Obviously Tom isn't doing anything - it's the Yeerk in his head, but we just say "Tom" because Yeerk names are hard to pronounce. Tom (the human, not the Yeerk) is Jake's brother, which is why Jake likes turning into a tiger to kill Yeerks.
• Chapman - Chapman is just like Tom, only he's the assistant principal of the school instead of Jake's brother. He made a deal with the Yeerks to spare his daughter, but c'mon... when was the last time YOU encountered an alien warlord who actually made deals with petty humans like yourselves?
• Visser One - The generals of the Yeerk Army are called vissers. Visser One is the #1 visser. He used to be Visser Three, but the former Visser One was killed off and Visser Two was slacking off playing Pokémon. He inhabits an Andalite (and-a-light) body, making him the only Andalite-Controller. Whoopee for him. He morphs into a bunch of weird alien shapes, but can't ever kill off the Animorphs (whom he thought were Andalite bandits).
• That Eye Thing - The supreme evil, his real name is "Crayak" but that sounds like a crayon brand. Anyway, he's an eye. He commands an army of guys called "Howlers", who howl a lot. He fights the guy called "Ellimist".

Ellimist

Ellimist is this supernatural 1337-dimensional guy who claims he never interferes, but if it weren't for him, there would be no Animorphs and the Yeerks would have pwned Earth already. Damn hypocrite.
