Member
A member is the traditional name for the lowest class of registered forum user (another name is "user"). These are the lifeblood of any forum, and without active members the forum fades into oblivion.
Priveliges of a registered member
Registered members can:
- Post new threads
- Post replies to threads
- Customize a user profile; this incudes an avatar and signature
Registration to a forum is usually free, although a few forums (Something Awful is the canonical example)) require a paid subscription. Other forums allow you to subscribe to gain more features.
All forum users are expected to follow a set of rules established by the administrator(s) and enforced by moderators.
